The finals of the 2014 Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games will come up on Saturday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola
will lead a host of dignitaries expected to grace the occasion. The
Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, top government officials
as well as chief executives of the oil and gas sector will be there to
witness their respective athletes fight for medals.
The grand finale will feature the final of the football event, which will be preceded by a third-place match.
The programme will also feature the final of the 4x100m relays.
Meanwhile, Team Chevron dominated the
stakes in swimming, thus topping the medals table with five gold, two
silver and two bronze medals.
ExxonMobil are second with two golds,
two silvers and one bronze while Team Total placed third with two golds
and one silver medal.
Team NOAC with one gold and one silver
placed fourth while Team SPDC are fifth with one gold and four silver.
PTI and NNPC are sixth and seventh respectively.
The star of the event was Kate McMillan of Team Chevron, who won two golds and one bronze medal.
Team Shell continued its dominance in the basketball event, with a 66-10 victory over NAOC on Wednesday.
