Voters in Osun State have been urged not to be scared of security operatives during the election, as they are meant to protect them and their votes. The Commissioner for Finance and Budget Development in the state, Dr. Wale Bolorunduro stated this during a campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun Local Government Area of the state.
Bolorunduro stressed that “the boast by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders that they would use federal power to oppress the electorate are mere vituperations.”
Bolorunduro stressed that “the boast by some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders that they would use federal power to oppress the electorate are mere vituperations.”
According to him, “the vituperations were meant to scare the people so that they would not be able to come out on the election day to re-elect Aregbesola, who, has affected their lives positively.”
His words: “It is a known fact that Aregbesola has affected lives of our people in Ijesaland and Osun State in general and we must support him through our votes to do more.”
“They are just boasting that they would deploy security men; don’t be scared, security men are meant to protect you and your votes. Come out enmasse and vote Aregbesola again.”
Also speaking, secretary to the committee, Mr. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, part of the antics of the PDP was to employ men to cause violence in the state during the poll.
Oyintiloye also urged the people not to allow any politician to induce them with material things, saying that doing so would amount to selling their future, as their voters’ card is the power they have to elect their leaders.
He said whoever was found with more than one voter’s card should be reported to security operatives and the APC leaders so that the appropriate step would be taken.
